Fitness

New goal in life is to stay fit so that I can live long to take care of my family. Hopefully working out doesn't kill me and has the opposite effect. There are many cases of people dying young while excercising, either from an accident, a coronary or aneurysm. Most medical info suggests that cardiovascular exercise is good for you.
March 4th Jogged/walked 8 miles.
March 3rd walked 6.8 miles.
Been doing 90 to 120 minute workouts where I try to keep my heart rate between 135 and 143 bpm. If I do weights, it is hard to keep it up. I let it drop down to 115-120 between sets. Deltoid raises of all things keep my HR up. Trying to lose weight, and just like everyone else, I have to work hard at it. It doesn't just happen. Back when I was single, I skied up Flattop every day, which is about 1500ft. in elevation gain. On the weekends, I would ski up Turnagain Pass. One day I climbed from 200ft to 3378ft, down to 1000ft, up to 2900ft and then back down to 200ft. That's a total of over 5000 ft. elevation gain in a few hours... No wonder I could eat like a horse and not gain any weight. Piloting a desk just ain't the same.
I'm not really into golf, especially since they now make you use a cart. It's all about heart rate. Bowling, shuffleboard and pool just don't get it for me. Sitemap    Home
