Advocacy

As a tireless voice on legislative issues at the national, state and local levels, the National Mental Health Association advocates for the development and funding of mental health services; the protection of consumer rights; and the fair, equitable and humane treatment of the millions of Americans in need of mental health care.

NMHA also works to make mental health research a national priority by stimulating increased federal funding for research into the causes, prevention and treatment of mental illnesses.
