Happy Valentines Day!

H ello and welcome to the Animaton Artshop's special section for newly acquired production pieces. It has been awhile since I last updated this section of the website and a lot has happened since early 2004. With fewer auctions taking place and the dawn of computer animation, it is becoming increasingly harder to find production artwork from disney animated films. However, over the years I have developed relationships and sources for new and interesting works that were created during the producton process. This past year I have been traveling extensively as well building some relationships with past artists. It is amazing to think that Disney no longer has a 2D animated feature in development!

Fortunately, I have been able to find some really wonderful pieces during the past year. As a special thank you to all of my collector friends who have supported me over the years, I have put together a special sale of some truly wonderful finds to start off 2005. These special pieces will be exclusively available through February 24 afterwhich I will open them up to the general art collecting community or put them back in my personal collection. This special Valentine's Sale has some wonderful production artwork from the Little Mermaid, Brother Bear, Lilo & Stitch, Fantasia and more. To view a particular piece in more detail, just click on the on the image. I have provided larger images of every piece for a better view. All pieces will available on a first come first served basis via email. So if you are interested in a particular piece just click on the "buy" symbol next to the piece to send me a note requesting a purchase. All artwork will sold on the basis of when the email is received.

As always if you have any questions please send me an email as I enjoy hearing what other collector's are thinking or are looking for!

Art of the Incredibles September 1, 2004
Author: Mark Cotta Vaz, Brad Bird, John Lasseter
Subject:From the Acadamy Award-winning studio that brought us Toy Story, Monsters, Inc., and the blockbuster Finding Nemo, comes The Incredibles, a hilarious and action-packed story of a family of superheroes banished to a boring suburban existence. Until...Mr. Incredible gets duped into an evil scheme and his family charges in to the rescue. The film is wonderfully graphic, bringing an early-'60s retro look to the superhero genre. The Art of the Incredibles once again pulls together the fabulous and otherwise never-seen movie concept art with quotes from the creative team of artists, designers, and directors. With an 8-page gatefold and fabulous color art, it is a visually stunning book that will appeal to the adult animation audience. Hardcover, 159 pages.
