OUR TERRAIN Our exclusive helicopter and snowcat areas extend over more than 750 sq. miles (1.950 sq. km) of the Western Chugach Range. Our exclusive heli terrain includes numerous regions scattered down the Kenai Peninsula. Each zone, under special-use permit by Chugach National Forest, consists of 300 - 600 acres (120 - 240 hectares). With no pressure from other operators, it is nearly impossible to exhaust all our powder between snowfalls. Terrain features include tree skiing, unavailable to other Chugach heli ski locations, glacial bowls, and steep mountain faces. You don't have to be an extreme skier to heli-ski Alaska. We have terrain to suit advanced intermediate to expert skiers. Snowboarders will particularly enjoy our terrain, as it requires very little traversing or hiking. Our proximity to the Pacific Ocean keeps our elevations relatively low guaranteeing plenty of oxygen and little acclimatization. Our lowest pick-up zone is 10 feet (3m) above sea level and our highest drop-off is at 6,500 feet (1,980 m). Timberline is approximately 2,200 feet (670 m), offering up to 2,000 feet (610 m) of tree skiing, conditions permitting. Our heli runs vary between 1,400 - 5,600 feet (425 - 1,700 m) and average about 3,000 feet (915 m). |
