Aurora Quartz
This brooch is one of the display pieces also from the Anchorage Musuem of History and Art. It's center is Aurora Quartz. That is, titanium fused to quartz. It's quite colorful and shiny. I let the beauty of this centerpiece speak for itself and just added a border and fringe. I mounted the quartz to suede leather, added the border and then fringed it with gold AB 4mm Austrian crystal and AB drop crystal. It's crescent moon shape is most fascinating.
