Robert E. Tyler Family
This one must have been taken around 1918 as Mary Gladys died in 1918 of the flu. She was nearly five years old. (per Linda)
Mary Gladys was born Dec 28, 1913 and died Dec.4 1918 when a flu epidemic was going around
killing thousands of people. She was buried in Maury County then after her family moved
to Nashville and her father became a stone carver for Spring Hill Cemetery and was part owner
in J. W. Hunts Monument Co, they had her body moved to Spring Hill Cemetery.
There was a beautiful angel on her marker that Robert Edw carved but someone stole it. Edward Jr. was born 29 March 1912 and died in Chicago in the 70's. Clifford was born Feb 24, 1916 and died 13 Dec 1953 by suicide. Beulah Tyler West Kish was born 30 May 1910 and died 24 Mar 1981. Raymond Tyler, not pictured, was born 19 Aug, 1923 and died 22 Aug 1944 after
his plane was shot down over England during WWII.

Note from Linda, (who provided all these photos and information)

This is a photo of Robert Edw. when he was part owner of the Hunt Monument Co. I was also told he did the stone carving on the War Memorial Building in downtown Nashville. It's right down in front of the Capitol. He also did the stone carving on the Old Hickory Bridge and Spring Hill Cemetery entrance. This picture is over 50 years old as he died in 1945. He is the one on the right.
(note by Dianna....re: "part owner"....on the building sign, R.E. Tyler is the only name shown, possibly indicating him as the sole owner?? at some point in time?)
