For those who like to travel at their own pace, this 6 day self-drive tour has the best of what Alaska has to offer with the three most popular attractions - Denali National Park, Kenai Fjords National Park, and Prince William Sound.

Day 1 Pick up rental car in Anchorage, and drive to Seward. Enjoy a cruise through the magical Kenai Fjords National Park, alive with abundant marine wildlife and calving glaciers. Lunch included. Overnight in Seward.
Day 2 Embark on a breathtaking drive. Look for beluga whales, bald eagles, moose, and Dall sheep on your way to Talkeetna, where you'll overnight after an evening jet boat ride.
Day 3 Drive to Denali and enjoy what locals consider even better views of "the mountain" than seen from the national park itself. Overnight at a Denali lodge.
Day 4 Drive along the tundra carpeted landscape of Denali Highway. Watch for caribou, moose, and other critters, then enjoy awesome views of the Wrangell Mountains on your way to overnight lodging in Valdez.
Day 5 Cruise through Prince William Sound to Columbia Glacier, including a delicious lunch on Growler Island. Drive from Valdez to Glennallen where you'll overnight.
Day 6 Enjoy your last day on the breathtaking drive back to Anchorage.

If you are on a limited schedule, perhaps the best way to see Denali is in this 3 day tour. Enjoy the magic of Talkeetna, located near Denali's southern border, the starting point for most Denali climbing expeditions. You'll visit the Denali National Park visitor center and take a natural history tour.

Day 1 From Anchorage take an afternoon coach to Talkeetna and spend the night where many climbers start their expeditions on Denali.
Day 2 After a morning jet boat ride up the Talkeetna River, board the Alaska Railroad for a scenic ride to Denali. Take an evening Natural History Tour into the famous national park then spend the night in a comfortable lodge.
Day 3 Return to Anchorage by coach along the Parks Highway and enjoy what locals consider even better views of "The Mountain" than seen from within the actual park.
