How
to use an InterJet with an existing 100BaseT network
|
|
Problem:
|
An office is using 100BaseT
on the Office Ethernet. The InterJet's Ethernet hub
supports 10BaseT. How can the two networks coexist?
|
|
Solution:
|
Use an Ethernet hub with
at least one 10BaseT port and enough 100BaseT ports
to connect all Ethernet client machines. Connect the
InterJet to the 10BaseT port, and the other machines
to the 100Baset ports, as usual.
You may also use a router
between the 10BaseT and 100BaseT networks. In this case,
make sure the router is capable of passing DHCP requests
(install a DHCP Helper) between the 10BaseT and 100BaseT
networks to assure the InterJet will provide DHCP services
properly.

Client
can't save html file to InterJet from Windows 95
|
|
Problem:
|
Client has access to appropriate
/internal/users folder and uses Claris Home Page or Netscape
Navigator to edit html file contained within the folder.
Client cannot save edited file to InterJet. Errors reported
may be "Disk Full" or "Bad File Name".
|
|
Solution:
|
Workaround this situation by
using Map Network Drive in Windows '95 Network Neighborhood.
Map the appropriate InterJet folder (Public or Internal).
Html editors and other applications will then permit files
to be saved to these folders.

Backup
is not successful, and InterJet will no longer connect to
Internet
(Note: Backup
and restore is not supported by Internet Explorer.)
|
|
Problem:
|
Customer attempts backup. He
is never asked for backup file location, although some file
activity appears to take place. An error message appears,
saying client connection with InterJet has been lost. The
InterJet's WAN connection is down, and cannot be fixed from
the keypad.
|
|
Solution:
|
Use Netscape Navigator to perform
an InterJet backup. Internet Explorer does not complete
the backup successfully. You may need to reboot the InterJet
to restore WAN connection capability after attempting a
backup with Internet Explorer. (Note:
Backup and restore is not supported by Internet Explorer.)

Client
cannot access InterJet folders through Windows Neighborhood
|
|
Problem:
|
Windows client attempts to
log onto InterJet as a shared server via Windows Neighborhood.
The user enters his InterJet User Name and Password, but
receives an "access denied" message. Even so, the InterJet's
Software folder is accessible.
|
|
Solution:
|
Each client must have a user
name and password that is identical on Windows 95 and the
InterJet to log onto the InterJet and see all three main
folders (Internal, Public, and Software). If your system
if not set up in this manner, change either the InterJet's
user name or Windows 95's user name to match one another.
