THE SPEED SHOP   

A chicken ranch turned Speed Shop--must see to believe. The Speed Shop is the largest, most modern, high performance facility in the state of Alaska. The facility is 15,000 sq. ft., with state of the art equipment and technology. The Speed Shop offers the general public and other shops statewide, an extensive variety of new and used performance parts. We also offer precision engine building and full machine services; to include balancing, blue printing, boring, honing, custom head work and much more! Also offered is custom chassis fabrication; complete off-frame restoration; heated storage; and parts and service for race cars, drag boats, snow machines, and motorcycles.

       

In addition to the services we offer, we are also heavily involved in the racing circuit, both in-state and nationally. The Speed Shop built, owned, and raced a Pro Sportsman car that was the 1995 Alaska State Champion and Class Points Champion. We also ran a Top Sportsman Car that was State Points Champion for five years. We currently assist a large percentage of the race car owners in Alaska by either service or sale of parts. More recently, the owner of the Speed Shop built and maintains a 1/4 mile asphalt oval track, North Star Speedway; which is located on the premises. The owner is affectionately known as the "Chicken Man" and has capitalized on that name for advertising purposes. It’s an amusing coincidence that our facility was once a chicken ranch.
