| 11-15-02 Dear Madam or Sir, Gakona School is an elementary school serving primarily Alaskan Native children from kindergarten through eighth grade. Our enrollment fluctuates from 12-25 year to year. Presently we have seventeen children. They are energetic, motivated young Alaskans. Exercise and play are a vital part of a student?s day. Our school play ground equipment is the original equipment purchased when the school was built about thirty years ago with the exception of a wooden fort that was built by a mission group a few years ago. Unfortunately that, too, is badly weathered and in need of desperate repair. We conduct yearly raffles and other fund raising activities, however to purchase the proper and safe equipment, we are far from our goal. We would appreciate any donation you are willing to extend. Thank you for your time and consideration. Furthermore we would like to cordially invite you to visit our school. Thank you, Mark Savel Gakona School 822-5418 home 822-3241 school phone/fax Box 793 Glennallen, AK 99588 msavel@crsd.k12.ak.us |
