Welcome to The Senate Floor!

In the Senate, a Bill must first go to its affiliated Standing Committee of the Senate. After carefully studying it, holding public hearings, and making any necessary revisions, the committee then votes on the bill. If it is approved it goes on to the majority leader, otherwise the bill dies.

The majority leader, will schedule time on the Floor for a vote.

Once the majority leader schedules the Bill, it will be debated on the Floor. Then it will be voted on by the members of the Senate.

This bill has now been passed by the Senate. It now needs to go to the House to be approved. Go to House now. If the Bill has all ready been approved by the House then Go to the Conference Committee.
