Welcome to The House Floor!

In the House, a Bill must first go to its affiliated Standing Committee of the House. After carefully studying it, holding public hearings, and making any necessary revisions, the committee then votes on the bill. If it is approved it goes on to the House Rules Committee, otherwise the bill dies.

The House Rules Committee, will decide if the Bill deserves time on the Floor for a vote. They can speed it up, slow it down, or stop it from appearing on the Floor for a vote.

Once the Rules Committee schedules the Bill, it will be debated on the Floor. Then it will be voted on by the members of the House.

This bill has now been passed by the House of Representatives. It now needs to go to the Senate to be approved. Go to Senate now. If the Bill has all ready been approved by the Senate then Go to the Conference Committee.
