If you have recently upgraded from Autocad 2000 or Autocad 2000i to Autocad 2005 Sitemap    Home

If you have recently upgraded from Autocad 2000 or Autocad 2000i to Autocad 2005, then you may have had problems with the menus and toolbars.  If all the icons on the toolbars turn into ? question marks, then this page is for you.

ACAD came up, but all the toolbars have ? instead of icons.
Autodesk has very limited documentation on this problem. http://adeskftp.autodesk.com/WebPub/autocad/mtools/cct2004/readme_cct_enu.htm Need to run the following app: Autodesk Customization Conversion tools (CCTSETUP.exe) The one part we need is the: Menu and Toolbar Porter which will take toolbars from previous versions and import them.

They talk about a menu conversion utility known as the Customization Conversion Tools CCTSETUP.exe.

This file is supposed to have

AutoLISP Compatibility Analyzer
Menu and Toolbar Porter

Command Alias (PGP) Porter
ScriptPro
Layer State Converter

And can be found here:
http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/item?siteID=123112&id=4091678

or here...

The one part we need is the: Menu and Toolbar Porter which will take toolbars from previous versions and import them. Except cctsetup.exe DOES NOT HAVE the Menu and Toolbar Porter.  You must download another file for this utility.  Are you having trouble finding the Menu and Toolbar Porter?  If you cannot find the Menu and Toolbar Porter, it may be found here:

The Autocad FTP server has this file... ftp://ftp.autodesk.com/

It is in the products support directory.  This is the directory for the most current version (2005) of Autocad.  Older versions are stuffed in subdirectories.

ftp://ftp.autodesk.com/ProdSupp/downloads/

Look for the file MTPSETUP_2005.EXE

Save and run the file.  Then you can convert all your old menus over.  If you still have a problem with your menus having ? question marks, then I'm not sure what to do.  You can always go to Tools>Options>Files>Menus and change it to the default directory for 2005, which BTW is no longer support, but USER_DATA_CACHE/Support.
