King Salmon:  May-July
Silver Salmon:  Aug-Oct
Sockeye Salmon:  July
Pink Salmon:  August
Rainbow Trout:  June-Oct
Halibut:  May-Sept

When to Fish:

Kings - Monsters of the Kenai:
The early run of Kings begin entering the river around the 1st of May and continue strong through the end of July. These heavy duty fighters are powerful, fast and will challenge even the most experienced angler. Not to worry though,our professional guides will provide direction if necessary.

Sockeye - Alaskans' choice for dinner:
The prized Sockeye salmon can be found throughout the river from late June through the end of July.

Silvers - High flying acrobats:
Pound for pound, Silvers are the toughest fighters in the river, ranging from 8 to 10 lbs. August 1st marks the beginning of Silver season and the run continues through late September.

Pinks - Hard hitting and tough:
Pinks are available on even numbered years and often move with the Silver's from late July through early September.





Nothing beats a few laughs shared between good friends while spending time in the great outdoors. Add a 60-pound King salmon on the end of your line, arms straining, reel screaming, a smile so big it hurts and now we’re talking some serious fun. At Black Dog we recognize that you’ve come to the Kenai to enjoy yourself and making that happen is our number one concern. Nothing beats a day on the Kenai to wash away your worries, so kick back, enjoy yourself and leave the worrying to us. We’ll put you on the fish. Our rates are $125 per person per fishing trip. Our morning trips begin at 6:00am and end at 11:30am. The afternoon trips begin at 12:30pm and end at 6:00pm. We furnish top of the line fishing equipment, comfortable high-back swivel seats, helpful instruction, and a genuine sense of humor to keep you smiling.
