These are just a few of the local runs that are readily available to Anchorage bowl boaters.  Opportunities for first descents abound.  Kayaking is still a relatively young sport and the boaters at the forefront are young and aggressive and on the steep learning curve.  If you have dreamed of something  different try a fly-in to the Talkeetna or Newhalen.  There are easy rivers to learn on and big water runs.  The season is long and the summers are unlike any other place on earth.
