The church family in Anchorage believes that we are a family, God's Family. We are told in God's Word that when a person is born again of "water and the Spirit" they are born into God's Family (John 3:1-16; Galatians 6:10). We know that a person cannot join Christ's church, they must be added to it by Christ himself (Acts 2:47). Those who have been added to the Lord's church in Anchorage through obedience to God's Word make up a supportive community of believers. We feel blessed beyond measure to be counted as God's own family and constantly look forward to seeing others be added to the Lord's church through obedience to the teachings of the Bible.

As God's family we are always trying to find ways to encourage and spur one another on in our growth as Christians (Hebrews 10:24-25). A number of programs exist to help us to just that. Whether it be family fellowship opportunities or Bible classes, every activity is designed to encourage and edify the members of the congregation. Here is short list of some of the ongoing programs and activities of the congregation here:

  • Men's Ministry

  • Ladies' Ministry

  • Single's Ministry

  • Youth Ministry

  • Prison Ministry

  • L.I.F.T. Ministry

  • Goodtimers Ministry

  • Bible Classes

  • Deaf Ministry

  • Bible Correspondance Courses

  • Community Service Projects

  • Midnight Sun Bible Camp

You can be sure that among all the activities of the church family here something will be an encouragement to you and your family. We would be honored if you would consider

visiting with us during any of these encouragement

opportunities. Our real hope, of course, is that you would

consider becoming a part of our family here.

The congregation here currently has three elders who oversee the work (Acts 20:17; James 5:14). The elders serving now are:

       Larry Smith (ljsmith@pobox.alaska.net),

       Mansel Young (mandjyoung@hotmail.com), and

       Charles Kelly (clkelly@gci.net).

There are currently nineteen deacons who serve the

congregation in various capacities as well (1 Timothy 3:8).

"Just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we who are many form one body, and each member belongs to all the others"

(Romans 12:4-5, NIV).
