  California
State Library -  Finding Information on the Internet

Now you know the terms, and you’ve visited a few sites,
how do you reduce the number of hits and refine your search? This is
the most informative site on this topic I’ve found. There’s also an
advanced course on finding items on the Internet, and information from many
  other workshops at this www.infopeople.org
  web site.
  Librarians' Index to the
  Internet
Who did we used to depend on to help us find research
items before the Internet? Right—librarians! This is a searchable, annotated
subject directory of Internet resources selected and evaluated by librarians
for their quality. They send out a weekly newsletter listing that week’s
additions to the index—my favorite e-mail every week—and at their web site
provide a trove of wonderful, high quality information on the Net.
  Search Engine
  Watch
Another site dedicated to helping you find information on
the Internet, and keeping you up-to-date on the latest changes to search
tools. They send out a monthly newsletter and offer other services to “members”
at no cost for signing up.
  Local Resources
  Statewide
  Databases
The State of Alaska pays for Alaskan citizens to have
access to several large databases, including E-library, Ebsco, and others.
This is one of the several library pages that link to those databases.
  The Alaska Legal
  Resource Center
Operated by Jim Gottstein’s Touch ‘n Go website, this
page early on became the premier site linking Alaskan legal professionals to a
  wide variety of resources.
  The Legal Stuff
  Law
  Libraries on the Net

  Librarian's Index to the
  Internet Listing for "Law"
Access this site and type law in the search
form. You will get a closely evaluated and screened listing of nearly 100
law-related web sites. Their Best of listings are the real winners in
whatever topic you search for, a true honor coming from these professionals!
