How
to use an InterJet with an existing 100BaseT network
|
|
Problem:
|
An office is using 100BaseT
on the Office Ethernet. The InterJet's Ethernet hub supports
10BaseT. How can the two networks coexist?
|
|
Solution:
|
Use an Ethernet hub with at
least one 10BaseT port and enough 100BaseT ports to connect
all Ethernet client machines. Connect the InterJet to the
10BaseT port, and the other machines to the 100Baset ports,
as usual.
You may also use a router between
the 10BaseT and 100BaseT networks. In this case, make sure
the router is capable of passing DHCP requests (install
a DHCP Helper) between the 10BaseT and 100BaseT networks
to assure the InterJet will provide DHCP services properly.

Client
cannot access InterJet folders through Windows Neighborhood
|
|
Problem:
|
Windows client attempts to log
onto InterJet as a shared server via Windows Neighborhood. The
user enters his InterJet User Name and Password, but receives
an "access denied" message. Even so, the InterJet's Software
folder is accessible.
|
|
Solution:
|
Each client must have a user name
and password that is identical on Windows 95/98 and the InterJet
to log onto the InterJet and see all three main folders (Internal,
Public, and Software). If your system if not set up in this
manner, change either the InterJet's user name or Windows 95/98's
user name to match one another.
