Continue to use the InterJet Troubleshooting Wizard by answering the questions that follow:

Client Setup

You are installing a Windows 3.1 client using a Novell server.

Solution:

If you have ODI Netx or VLM, then buy LAN Workplace for DOS version 5, or purchase a valid license to use Novell's TCP/IP stack (called TCPIP.EXE).

Browse to www.novell.com/download. Scroll down and select IntranetWare Client. Then click on "IntranetWare Client TM 2.2 for DOS and Windows." Select "Download Novell Software". Download the files.

Copy the files to diskette, and then to the Windows 3.1 client. Use the Installation Wizard to choose the ODI driver, install TCP/IP, update the autoexec.bat file, and copy the files to the proper directories.

If you wish to use dynamix IP assignment, you must also edit the net.cfg file in the \Novell\client32 directory. Scroll down to the PROTOCOL TCPIP section of the file and make the following changes:

PROTOCOL TCPIP

IF_CONFIGURATION DHCP (add this line for dynamic addressing)
PATH TCP_CFG C:\NOVELL\CLIENT32\TCP
;IP_ADDRESS (add semicolon to comment out line)
;IP_ROUTER (add semicolon to comment out line)
;IP_NETMARK (add semicolon to comment out line)

Save the file and reboot the Windows 3.1 client.

Continue installation by using an existing browser on the Windows client, or by installing Netscape Navigator from the InterJet.
