If your "www" site information
needs to be changed after autoconfiguration, you can edit
entries in the System Agent/ View page manually. First,
go to System Agent/ View and make sure no other machine
has already been assigned the name "www". If a "www" name
exists, edit that machine's entry in the System Agent/ View
page and delete the name.
- Note: If the "www" machine's
entry is uneditable, it has been created using the Webmaster
Agent (see option below), the site is hosted on an external
server, and the server has been specified by name. In
that case, use the technique in the option below to change
the InterJet's web hosting option.
- Next, make sure a Network
exists with an IP range that includes the new "www" machine's
IP address; Add a New Network if necessary to create the
proper IP address range. Then Add a New Machine with the
appropriate IP address and assign the name "www".
WhistleWare 2.1 and later provide
another option for defining "www". In the Webmaster Agent/
Options page, you can select the appropriate option: host
the web site on the InterJet or mirror the web site on an
external server. Select the appropriate option.
- If you select an external
server, enter the name of the external server. Enter only
the server's name, not its IP address.
- InterJets with a dual hub
Ethernet card (the InterJet 140 and 200) and a defined
IP address range for the Perimeter Network will display
a third option: to host the web site on a Perimeter Net
machine. If you select this option and have named machine
entries on the Perimeter Net, then the WebMaster Agent
will display a pull-down menu to allow you to select the
appropriate Perimeter Net computer to host the web or
ftp site.
In either case, WhistleWare
will create a machine entry for "www" and "ftp", which can
be seen in the System Agent/ View page.
