Internal
modem does not work after autoconfigure
|
|
Problem:
|
During a WhistleWare 1.1. autoconfigure,
when the internal v.34 modem port is to be used, the modem
doesn't work. The LCD's "connection status" screen says
"WAN link is disabled, enable from WWW user interface."
The system agent shows the modem port to be in a "problem"
state without an indication of the source of the problem.
|
|
Solution:
|
In the System agent, go to
the Ports tab and edit the internal modem port. Disable
the port and submit the change. Then re-enable the port
and submit the change. The modem port will now operate normally.

A
replacement (RMA) InterJet cannot autoconfig successfully
to Commander
|
|
Problem:
|
Customer unit successfully
connects to Internet, etc. Due to unit failure, the InterJet
has been replaced with a new unit. The new unit is unsuccessful
using autoconfig to the ISP's Commander system.
|
|
Solution:
|
The ISP must change the customer's
record settings in Commander to allow the new InterJet to
connect. The setting to change is: "allow only from EN HW
address". Clear the previously registered MAC address.
Once the new InterJet successfully
autoconfigures, its new address will be stored in the customer
record. Subsequent autoconfigs to this Commander record
must be from the new InterJet.

InterJet
does not autoconfigure successfully
|
|
Problem:
|
The InterJet attempts to dial
out to autoconfigure. The modem tones are heard, but no
connection is made. The customer may hear a phone company
error message, "I'm sorry, your call could not be completed"
or similar messages.
|
|
Solution:
|
Check the entries for Prefix
and Phone Number on the InterJet's autoconfig screen. The
Prefix entry will typically be "8", "9", or have no entry.
Make sure the area code or full phone number is not entered
in the Prefix field. The phone number should contain either
the 7 or 10 digit phone number as supplied by the your ISP.
