Snowmobiling
Frozen lakes and wooded trails offer lots of thrills and spectacular treks for snowmobilers. Although snowmobiling (often called snowmachining) is not allowed within municipal parks, you'll find trails in the Big Lake area, Chugach State Park, Hatcher Pass, Turnagain Pass, and parts of the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge. For general information, call the Anchorage Snowmobile Club: 907-566-0272.
