Introduction to Researching the WWW...

The purpose of this presentation is to examine the merit of various information sources, explore search engines and other research tools, and to look at incorporating good research skills in the use of the World Wide Web.

HTML Sample WWW RESEARCH GUIDE...

Sometimes it's more helpful to provide a "WWW Research Study Guide" that gives students some "pearls" and some starting points, especially if online time is limited and "surfing" isn't the main focus of the lesson.* You, another teacher and/or some helpful students could prepare one using a template:
Go to this link for a template Guide
http://www.alaska.net/~wamsley/guide.html

Use the "Save As" command, saving this template as SOURCE. Open it with your word processor and you will find a HTML document in which you can put your specific information and links. Be sure to save your completed document as a TEXT file, and then use your browser's "Open File" command to use it.

*Another option is to create a sample "Bookmark" file for your browser. When it is saved to disk it is saved as a text HTML document, and it can be opened from the -file- menu. Or if it is uploaded (ftp) to a web server it can be accessed over the Internet just like any other web document.
