United Southeast Alaska Gillnetters Association strongly supports the Snettisham Hatchery Sockeye program because of the benefits to the entire Southeast gillnet fishery. Beginning in year 2001 the gillnet fishery expects a 60% share to the common property fishery and 40% share for hatchery cost recovery of the return.

The Snettisham Hatchery should provide common property gillnet opportunity in Stephens Passage and Port Snettisham in the future.
