2. What is the problem you would like the Board to Address?

To reinstate the Gillnet King Fishery in District 8. (Stikine)

 

 

3. What will happen if this problem is not solved?

The king stocks have rebuilt and at the time our fishery was closed for conservation concerns we were promised to reestablish this fishery when the stocks have rebuilt.

 

4. What solution do you prefer? In other words, if the Board adopted your solution, what would the new regulation say?

The new regulation would direct the department to open the king fishery by Emergency Order to the gillnet fleet.

 

 

5. Solutions to difficult problems benefit some people and hurt others:

1. Who is likely to benefit if your solution is adopted?

Gillnet fleet would have access to a stock we voluntarily stopped fishing on for conservation concerns until the stock was rebuilt.

2. Who is likely to suffer if your solution is adopted?

No other solution was considered
