  5. A gillnet fishermen does not have the option of fishing the length of the net they feel is appropriate for the conditions and area he is fishing in.

     

  6. What solution do you prefer? In other words, if the Board adopted your solution, what would the new regulation say? 5AAC 33.331 Gillnet Specification and Operation (c)
  1. In District 1, gillnets may not be more than 200 fathoms in length;
  2. In District 6, gillnets may not be more than 300 fathoms in length, except that gillnets may not exceed 150 fathoms in length in Blind Slough during seasons for such gear established by emergency order;
  3. In District 8, gillnets may not be more than 300 fathoms in length, except that gillnets may not exceed 150 fathoms in length in Blind Slough during seasons for such gear established by emergency order;
  4. In District 11, gillnets may not be more than 200 fathoms in length, except when a fishery is conducted prior to the 3rd Saturday in June the maximum length will be 150 fathoms;
  5. In District 15, gillnets may not be more than 200 fathoms in length.
