Overview of Representative Dahlstrom and UAA
Representative Dahlstrom was first elected in 2002. She supported a bill that clarified the legal status of University practicum students. She supported the budget bills that were favorable to the university. She received endorsements from APEA/AFT and United Academics during the 2006 election and attended the legislative luncheon at UAA in 2007. She was endorsed by United Academics AAUP/AFT and APEA/AFT in 2008. Representative Dahlstrom was the co-chair of the Anchorage caucus in 2009. Representative Dahlstrom introduced HB204 to increase funding for the WWAMI program. Representative Dahlstrom also was a co-sponsor for HB30 and HB54 which would repeal the current defined contribution retirement plans. Representative Dahlstrom was one of the co-chairs for the UA Boosters Caucus. On June 1, 2010, Representative Dahlstrom resigned from the House to join the Governor’s administration as a senior military affairs adviser.
