Overview of Representative Doogan and UAA
In his first year, Representative Doogan supported the budget bills that were favorable to the University. He received endorsements from APEA/AFT and United Academics and met with the Association during the 2006 election. He was endorsed by United Academics AAUP/AFT and APEA/AFT in 2008.
Representative Doogan attended the 2009 USUAA luncheon. Representative Doogan was not supportive of the University in 2010 as a member of the House Finance Committee. He voted with the majority in opposition to Representative Gara’s amendment to increase the University’s budget. Representative Doogan was endorsed by APEA during the 2010 General Election. In 2011, as a member of the House Finance subcommittee on the University, Representative Doogan was supportive of UA and in March 2011 voted “do pass” on the committee’s version of the UA budget which was slightly better than the Governor’s proposed budget for UA.
