Overview of Representative Holmes and UAA

In her first year, Representative Holmes supported the budget bills that were favorable to the University. She received endorsements from APEA/AFT and United Academics and met with the Association during the 2006 election. She attended legislative luncheon at UAA in 2006. She was endorsed by United Academics AAUP/AFT and APEA/AFT in 2008.

Representative Holmes was the co-chair of the Anchorage caucus in 2009. Representative Holmes was a primary sponsor for HB54 and a cosponsor for HB30 which would repeal the current defined contribution retirement plans. Representative Holmes is an inaugural member of the UA Boosters Caucus. Representative Holmes was endorsed by APEA during the 2010 General Election. In 2010 and 2011, Representative Holmes voted for the floor amendment to increase the UA budget. The amendment did not pass.
