Overview of Representative Lynn and UAA
Representative Lynn cosponsored University-related legislation on intellectual property, workforce development, UAA land use, and tuition residency requirements. In 2006, he was also supportive of the budget deal in the House that helped the University. He received endorsement from APEA/AF in the 2006 election. Representative Lynn toured the campus in 2007. He was endorsed by United Academics AAUP/AFT and APEA/AFT in 2008. Representative Lynn was a cosponsor for HB30 which would repeal the current defined contribution retirement plans. Representative Lynn was a cosponsor for HB94 for postsecondary scholarships.
Representative Lynn attended the 2009 USUAA luncheon and the opening reception for the Integrated Science Building. He was a cosponsor of SB221 which establishes the Alaska Merit Scholarship program. SB221 was approved and forwarded to the Governor. Representative Lynn also was a cosponsor for HB184 which will help UA by increasing the debt authorization. Representative Lynn was endorsed by APEA during the 2010 General Election. In 2011, Representative Lynn’s support for the University was infrequent.
