Open Challenge from the Baronial Guard (Eskalya)

11 May 96, Barony of Eskalya

Sponsored by:

The Eskalyan Baronial Guard

Organized by:

Lord Alfonso d'Strada

Description:

A one day open challenge by the Baronial Guard to team or single combat to be held at a regularly scheduled event.

How it Went:

Due to unexpected work and illness, only one Guard member made it to the event. While he was prepared to answer any challenges, one on one or one against many, no one stepped forward to seek combat.

Lessons Learned:

This was something of a last minute idea and real life got in the way. The lesson might be that something like this would be better announced at the event, once you know everyone will be there; or the lesson might simply be that not every plan comes off as you hope and you just have to keep trying anyway.

Greetings Alike to Friend and Foe

of the Right Wonderful Barony of Eskalya

From Her Guard

By Name being

Sir Georg, Knight of the West

and two of his squires

Lord Connor and Lord Alfonso

On the 11th of May this very Year, the Barony will gather in tourny and revel so that all might prepare for the Summer campaign season.

At that place and time, The Guard will make themselves ready to accept any challenge of melee whether it be from two warriors or from many.

But if there be more than four in a single company, let them come all at once or let them divide themselves into a matching number as suits their honor and nature.

And if there be but one alone, who seeks the greatest honor of single combat, let him seek out Her Excellencies Champion, Sir Kylson and endeavor with that worthy Knight.

May the friends and warriors of the Barony challenge us so that all may improve their skill and readyness to defend our fine land

And may those who would offend our Just Barony likewise make themselves known that we might prove Her borders well defended
