MY FRENCH-CANADIAN CONNECTIONS

My French-Canadian ancestry is through my father George St. Peter. His parents were Alfred St. Pierre and Dina Martel. Alfred, born in Rimouski, Quebec, was the son of Philippe St. Pierre and Alphonsine Lemieux. Dina, a descendant of Honore Martel, was born in Mabitoba. She was the daughter of Urgel Martel and Hermine Trepanier. Urgel and Hermine were married in Montreal, Quebec.

Alfred and Dina married in Ste-Elizabeth, Manitoba (near Winnipeg). They started their family in St. Boniface, Manitoba prior to moving to Minnesota. They settled in International Falls, Minnesota, where many of their descendants live today.

This page contains mostly French-Canadian genealogical data, with an emphasis on marriages, from the counties of Kamouraska and Rimouski, Quebec. There is some data on members of these families who resided in the county of L’Islet as well.

PERSONS

I have not spent much time inputting sources for the data that I have here. I chose instead to place more emphasis on the collection and input of the data itself. I have documented the sources though and will be more than happy to provide them to anyone who requests them.
