FAIRBANKS — A pair of Eielson High School football players earned first-team honors on offense and defense when the Alaska Football Coaches Association announced the small schools all-state team Sunday.
Dwanye Fearon and Charles King earned top honors as two-way players, while Colten Growden was named the first-team quarterback.
Fearon, the Greatland Conference Defensive Player of the Year, earned spots on the first team as an offensive guard and inside linebacker. King was tabbed as a wide receiver and defensive back.

The only other player in the News-Miner coverage area to earn first-team honors was Barrow’s Colton Blankenship as an interior defensive lineman.
Soldotna running back Anthony Griglione was named Offensive Player of the Year, while Kodiak’s Gary Anthony gained Defensive Player of the Year honors. Lineman of the Year went to Ross Courtney of Soldotna.
Soldotna’s Galen Brantley Jr. and Barrow’s Mark Voss shared Coach of the Year honors. Brantley led the Stars to their third straight state championship, while Voss guided the Whalers to their first state playoff berth in the Whalers’ third year of competition.
Assistant Coach of the Year honors went to Soldotna’s Sarge Truesdell and Nikiski’s Scott Anderson.
Eielson kicker Sara Colvin and interior defensive lineman Joe Biggane were named to the second team.
Barrow had four players named to the second team — running back Anthony Edwards, guard Keifer Kanayaurak, tackle Alistar Dunbar and defensive back Justin Sanders.
