ALASKA LINKS

FEW LODGING ESTABLISHMENTS in Anchorage match Susitna Place for convenience.

Shops, scores of restaurants, and the popular Tony Knowles Coastal Trail are as little as three blocks from our front door. The heart of downtown is an easy, safe walk of 5-10 minutes. The Alaska Railroad is one mile away. Anchorage International Airport is 4 miles away. We regret that we no longer can offer courtesy transportation to and from the rail depot.

Directions from ...

Anchorage International Airport: As you leave the terminal, you are heading east on International Airport Road. Proceed 2.5 miles to the Minnesota Drive interchange. Take the Minnesota Drive North loop/exit. Go north on Minnesota Drive for two miles (as you enter the downtown area, Minnesota becomes “I” Street and  cross streets are numbered). Follow “I” Street to 8th Avenue, and turn left. Follow 8th Avenue to “N” Street, and turn right. (It may look like you are pulling into a parking lot or alley, but it really is a street.) Susitna Place is the second building on the left, and there are four covered parking spaces for guests. People Mover, the citys municipal bus system, provides service across the city and operates a route from the airport to downtown until 10:30 p.m. on weekdays, 7:45 p.m. on Saturdays and 6:15 p.m. on Sundays. A cab ride takes 10-15 minutes and costs approximately $17.

Glenn Highway (State Hwy. 1): As you enter Anchorage, the highway turns into 5th Avenue. Proceed through the downtown area to “L” Street, and turn left. Go three blocks to 8th Avenue, and turn right. Go two blocks to “N” Street, and turn right. (It may look like you are pulling into a parking lot or alley, but it really is a street.) Susitna Place is the second building on the left, and there are four covered parking spaces for guests.

NOTE: “N” Street is not a through street. You must use 8th Avenue to access the bed and breakfast.

Seward Highway (State Hwy. 9): As you enter the downtown area, the street name changes to Ingra. Proceed to 9th Avenue, and turn left. Follow 9th Avenue to “M” Street, and turn right. Go one block to 8th Avenue, and turn left. Go one block to “N” Street, and turn right. (It may look like you are pulling into a parking lot or alley, but it really is a street.) Susitna Place is the second building on the left, and there are four covered parking spaces for guests.
