We are part of a community of people who believe that that
Jesus came into this world and by his preaching and presence has given life
in this world a meaning, a direction, and a reason to live and to work.
He has done this by sharing with us (through the scriptures)
what He called the good news of The Kingdom.
"The kingdom" simply means imagining this life as a Holy and
fulfilling experience where God is at our center, Christ being the one who
helps us understand Gods plan for us, and the Holy Spirit giving us the
wisdom or insight to follow that plan.
Being Catholic not only means we have direction and fulfillment
It means we belong to a community, a family, which has its
roots going back to Christ and the first Christians.
In other words, being Catholic means we never need to feel
we are in this world by ourselves trying to find our own way alone without
direction.
Being Catholic means we have sacraments which nurture our
faith life and we have a community of people who support us by their own
faith and good example.
And finally, have you ever received word of something so wonderful
and exciting that you can't wait to tell somebody about it ? That is what
understanding and accepting the "Word of God" will do for you.
