Come on along!
Removing Porcupine Quills

Mix vinegar (12 fl. oz.) and baking soda (2 lbs.) and soak the quills thoroughly.  They are made of calcium and will be softened quickly by the soaking.  Break or cut the ends off (to release the core pressure inside the hollow quill, and they will come out very easily.

Consider taking a small squeeze-bottle of this solution with you hunting, for immediate use if your little darling gets into a quillpig.  It's shelf life may be only a few days, though.

"No bird!"
