Foundation

These are some sketches of the type of foundation needed for a "slab on grade."  The hardware to fasten to the slab is not included.  You need to sink some studs into the concrete every 24-1/2" and use some inexpensive angle steel as shown to fasten the building to the slab.  Not a big deal.

In my case since Anchorage requires 42" footings, I was going to use 4" x 1/4" steel angle to fasten the building to the top of the foundation wall.  I got a quote from SteelFab of $1400 for 80 feet of the steel angle.  If you need footings, that is the way to go.  The best and cheapest situation is slab-on-grade if your soil will allow it (like most areas in the Valley).  Form up the concrete with the "groove" as shown below.   Once you have the building up, then put grout along the bottom of the walls in the groove for a weatherproof finish and ultimate strength.

I have more detail if you want it.  Email me at ptt-ak@hotmail.com
