1997-98
The Bartlett High track and field team opened up their season this year by sweeping a 9 team meet in Palmer. Next, Bartlett girls and guys swept West with scores of: girls: 52-12, guys: 53-11. Although the Bartlett team did not place first in the Palmer Relays as was first said for the guys, they did place 5th which is one of the highest places there for us in recent years, the girls also took 5th in this meet; there were 17 teams competing.
Bartlett then swept a duel meet against Chugiak: guys: 47-26, girls: 45-28. Congratulations go to Adriene Calahan who set a season state best mark for the triple jump at 41 feet, 4 inches, also congratulations go to B.J Jordan who set a season best mark for the 3,200 meters at 10 min, 8.7 seconds. The girls team was lead by Catlin Reese who won both the triple jump and the 300m hurdles.
