Should You Give A Statement to the Police?

 

At some point you may be asked to provide a statement to the police to assist in an ongoing investigation. However, there may be adverse consequences if the information you provide is later used against you in a criminal prosecution.

For these reasons it may be wise to discuss whether or not you should give a statement with an attorney before you provide any response.

An attorney may be able to work with the police department to insure that the statement is provided correctly. Also, an attorney can advise you if providing a statement is in your best interests.

As shown in the above photograph, in January a large male moose decided to sample some of the vegetation outside of the law office, but left the scene before he was booked on charges of trespassing and vandalism. :-) Sharing our city with the moose population makes Anchorage quite unique.
