Grimbal Ironblood
Background
Like most people born in this desert land of Athas, Grimbal has led a hard life, but unlike a lot of them, he has learned and benefited from it greatly. Even among his kind, the dwarves, Grimbal was bigger and stronger than most, and though he was big and strong, he has one the gentlest natures inside him.
Vowing to help others live an easier life, and to help the land prosper, Grimbal has dedicated his life to helping others, righting wrongs, and learning to help others get along in this land. Though like other dwarves, Grimbal enjoyed drinking his Ale, he has learned not to get carried away with it, and let it cloud his thinking, much to the disappointment of his fellow dwarves. in point of fact, a lot of individuals consider Grimbal to be boring, and much too serious, though you will not find many who cross him, because though he is a gentle man, underneath that gentleness lies a wall of iron.

After Astorus parents died during a raiding on their village by Sky Singers, he came to live with his uncle, named Talibo, in Altaruk. Ludar Kulaikar
"When Hamanu of Urik, self-proclaimed King of Athas led his armies south into the long forgotten Dwarven city of Leodaruk, he sought only slaves for his obsidian quarries and sport for his half giant lancers. The Dwarves, unprepared and outnumbered, were subdued or slaughtered with an ease which belied their hardy spirits. When Hamanu of Urik ground Leodaruk into desert dust he planted a seed of dissention which has taken over three centuries in coming to fruition."
Ludar Kulaikar is the descendent of those dwarves, and he has forgotten nothing. Since he was a boy he has had every story driven into him; the horrors his grandfather faced in the slave pens, his father clawing his way out of the quarry pits to become a free man, to wed and bear a free son in the city of Urik only to be killed for a pittance. It is with these bedtime stories that Lud's focus grew like a cold stone in the pit of his stomach: Hamanu must die. Lud clawed higher as his father had before him, becoming one of Hamanu's own Templars through sheer determination and single-mindedness. Lud is no fool; he knows that he could never best Hamanu in a physical confrontation, and so he studies the arcane and the divine in the hopes of finding some way to repay three generations of suffering. It is his life.
Description:
Lud is slightly less muscular than most of his dwarven brethren, although at 4'11" and roughly 200lbs he is still a solid figure. His garb is a cross between the self-indulgent robes of the Templars of Urik and the more durable and practical clothes of common folk. He is completely bald. His face is all sharp angles and his thin lips are usually pressed in a grim, mirthless line. What is most disconcerting about this man is the determination in his pale blue eyes (a sharp contrast to his dark skin). It seems as though there is no limit to the depths of his commitment to his work.

Kilal Wayfinder
Description:
Kilal is slightly more corpulent and shorter than normal elves. He stands 6 0" tall and weighs in at 180 pounds. He has dark hair which is usually more or less unkempt and at about shoulder length. His face is as clean shaven as his long knife will allow but a short stubble will show in a few days. His frame is covered with hard muscle and he has a hungry, crazy look about him which uneases even the most hardy of characters. He looks like he has not slept very well in the past few days. Only the most observant of people can detect the human blood in him.
He is wearing soft leather boots, dark breeches and a loose fitting dark shirt. He will wear studded leather armor when he is expecting "real" trouble. His bow and quiver is slung around his back, he wears a belt with a bone long knife at his waist. He usually carries his obsidian headed battleaxe in his hand.
Background:
Kilal was found by a wandering ranger when he was left to die with his mother by his former elven tribe. She was already dead when the ranger found them but by some miracle the young infant had survived. He has guessed that the elves had found out his human heritage and his mother could no longer hide the truth about him and they were kicked out from the tribe. He was raised and trained in the ways of nature and taught to respect the dwindling environment. His natural wild talent and strong Will soon blossomed when he was taught the Way. He honed his psionic skills battling the giths that infected those lands. The old man passed away and curiosity got the better of the Kilal.
He started going into the cities of the tablelands and hiring himself out as a scout and guide. He frequented the northern cities of Draj, Urik, and Raam. His mentor wondered that territory and he became quite adept in those lands. In that time, he mastered the bow but only hunted for survival. He prefers to ride crodlus and has even hired out as an outrider from time to time accompanying caravans for a while.
Personality:
Even though life has been better for him, he still makes his living with his wits and strength so he has an alert/always ready type of stance towards life.
Kilal feels uneasy around elves since he does not share their point of view on life nor most of their special skills. He still does not forgive them for their narrow mindedness towards other races and does not forgive them for what they had done to his mother. He is constantly confused with an elf and will sometimes let that pass and play along if he can see any benefit to it.
He enjoys making other people think that he is really crazy and flipped out. He somehow resents the rich and/or nobles because they have doublecrossed him in the past. He will try and get a little bit more money for his services. He prefers to hire out as a guide but a bodyguard will do when his money grows short. He is a bit disenchanted with the big cities and is thinking of going back to the natural ways of the Athasian wilderness where he feels comfortable with the dangerous surroundings.
Bolak K'thak
Background: Bolak is the sole survivor of his pack, which was wiped out only a few days ago by nothing less than a Dragon! Standing, watching in impotent fury, Bolak saw his pack mates smashed and devoured before his eyes. Luckily for him, he was unable to reach the fight before the devastating beast flew away, its cruel hunger sated.
Bolak has wandered the wastes since; instinct alone driving him to hunt and find the small amounts of water needed to sustain himself. The idea of revenge briefly occurred to the mighty mantis warrior, but he could find little motivation for tracking down and confronting such a fearsome opponent. He now travels the wastes aimlessly, looking for a reason to continue the struggle of life.
Description: Bolak is similar to all Thri-kreen, except for his coloring, which is a rich, metallic bronze. He stands a full 7 feet tall.
Personality: Bolak is like a walking corpse, wandering aimlessly. He is yet to meet another intelligent creature since his pack was destroyed, so no 'personality' has emerged from the 'depression' that he is suffering.
