The Firehouse Theatre

Ester, Alaska

This theatre has been in use since 1984 and is in the renovated Ester Volunteer Fire Department firehouse at the Ester Gold Camp. Located just outside of Fairbanks, this theatre is open from Memorial Day through Labor Day each year. Showing at this location is the original auroral PhotoSymphony The Crown Of Light. This program features various auroral displays filmed in Alaska and includes a short special segment on Denali National Park, along with a lunar eclipse. There are two showings nightly, at 6:45 and 7:45. Admission for adults is $6 and children from 3 through 12 are $3. This show is not recommended for children under 3 years of age.

This is the theatre where you are most likely to meet the photographer, since Ester is his home, and is the location where all of the PhotoSymphonies are created. This intimate 75-seat theatre is the very place where the photographer has composed each of his PhotoSymphonies. An evening here can include dinner at the Ester Gold Camp and a touch of Alaskan fun at the Malemute Saloon. You can call 907-479-2500 for reservations and information.
