Custom Alaskana Featuring:
Kennicott and McCarthy Alaska
This frame was captured on a Power Mac from
SVHS video shot in Kennicott, Alaska. It depicts the old mill
building below Bonanza Mine. Copper ore was trammed down the
mountain in buckets for processing and transported via railway to
Cordova.
Just up to the left of the building on the hillside beyond the
borders of this picture is a
natural geological phenomenon known as a "rock
glacier". A glacier is typically a
river of ice, but this is a river of rocks. Go figure. I'm just
repeating what I heard.
