More minutiaeThe new office room downstairs is cleared out so we're moving the office furniture down there and out of the new nursery. So pretty soon, joy of joys, I get to pull up the nursery carpet to clear out the mildew in the corner and the cat pee in the middle.
I'll do some schoolwork for a day first for a fun change of pace.
We found very cool things among the boxes formerly stored in the new office room. Our favorites so far are... all the exotic baking extracts we knew we had, slippers, the 1999 marine mammal conference poster and lots of maps. And lots of wire trivets. Trivet trivet triv triv trivet trivet - Daffy Duck, anyone?
As I bring up these boxes of kitchen stuff I find downstairs, Donna's been completely rearranging the kitchen and pantry and finding some more treasures - like 3 unopened boxes of raisins and a 3-year supply of jelly pectin. Our new hutch finally lets us spread out our dishes and pots and silver so that we can get to it all without digging deep into the cabinets. While our house is fairly large, the kitchen is pretty darned small with minimal storage. Back in 1968 cooking must have been a much simpler affair. Or at least there were a lot fewer ingredients.
Went shopping for a wedding gift at the mall downtown, some pants for Mike and a nice maternity dress for Donna... and realized that we hadn't been in the mall in over a year. The Eddie Bauer place got a kick out of the merchandise credit I was using - from over 2 years ago. Also on the lookout for a set of drinking glasses, a blanching basket and wire "basket" inserts for our porcelain sink (to prevent pottery destruction).
Just cleaned up from a pad thai dinner and settling in for a quiet evening of reading and maybe some housework.
