Autumn

Clearing out the downstairs room is lurching to completion. Lots of organizing and discoveries down there, but fortunately no stains. Itching to get the office furniture moved down there so we can take up the carpet in the nursery and start cleaning and painting. Had to replace a light switch that we smashed at some point. Ordered bronze knobs on the internet for new dining room hutch. Donna has been spending the evening loading up the hutch with our dishes and silver and unpacking the collection of kitchen stuff I found in the downstairs room. Still unpacked from when we bought the house - finding some great stuff!

Really didn't want to cook dinner tonight... but got inspired after rummaging around in the freezer. First, picked and sliced garden carrots and cauliflower in the small pot with a tiny bit of water, salt and pepper. Sliced the portabello mushroom lengthwise, dipped in egg, breaded with garden oregano and fried in some oil. Meanwhile seared a fillet of red salmon with that yummy salmon seasoning. Dropped a few handfuls of frozen corn into the veggie pot and that was that.

Another fascinating glimpse into our life...
