Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency ResponseThis course is required of all individuals whose work involves presence at sites involving or containing hazardous waste materials or responding to hazardous material spills or incidents. Includes all material required by OSHA 29 CFR 1910.120 for the 40-hour program. Students learn to handle hazardous materials in various forms and conditions, sample and field test materials, determine proper levels of protection, appropriately choose personal protective devices and respiratory protection equipment [emphasized], lay-out and characterize a site, establish exclusion zones, know decontamination procedures, and provide proper record keeping. |
