This spell was devised by Myrdak to for quick escapes when he was but a lowly apprentice. It is an invisible, mobile plane of sound, 10 feet by ten feet per caster level. It moves 10 yards per caster level out to it's maximum range, starting at the caster's location. When a creature gets in it's way, they are stunned and unable to move for 1 round per caster level. It may also (50% chance) deafen them for the same period. Either way, a Save Vs. Spells negates all effects. The material component is a conch shell, which the caster blows in the intended direction of the spell. There is a 50% chance that the sonic wave destroys it, otherwise, it is not consumed in the casting.

This was made by Myrdak as a variant on his stunner spell. When cast, it makes a plane of force identical to the stunner. However, this spell causes small missiles to fall to the ground. This is quite useless in single combat (why not use a protection from normal missiles?), but a high enough level wizard can defend an army against a volley of arrows with it, for example. The material component is the same as for Myrdak's Stunner.

Myrdak's Deafener (Evocation)

This is a much improved version of Myrdak's Stunner. When cast, the same plane of sound issues forth. However, when it hits, it not only stuns, but deafens- permanently. A Save Vs. Spells causes the deafness to last for only 1 day. The material component is a conch shell decorated with 5000 gp in gems. It is consumed in the casting.

This is the ultimate improvement on Myrdak's Stunner. When cast, a shockwave of sonic energy issues forth from within a creature. The shockwave is powerful enough to rend the creature to pieces. A successful Save Vs. Spells causes the creature to lose half it's maximum hit points (This may still be sufficient to kill the creature.) The material component for this is a conch shell studded with gems of 5000 gp value, plus the tongue of a monster who uses sound for an attack.
