Pipeline facts: The pipeline is 48 " diameter, made of 1/2" thick steel. The oil moves at nearly 5.5 mph, and takes 5 1/2 days to make the journey. 1/10 of all oil Americans use daily passes through the pipeline. About 2 million barrels pass through each day. If full, the pipeline would hold over 9 million barrels of oil. |
