Here is Stephanie and her boat record halibut of 195 lb.  We caught it off of Deep Creek in about 87' of water.  Guys, don't let this happen to you.  You'll never hear the end of it.  The sport record is 443 lb.
I do have the boat record for salmon.  Here I am holding a 61 lb. chinook (king) salmon.  Again we caught it off of Deep Creek trolling a rainbow T-Spoon in about 10' of water.  The sport fish record is 97 lb.
Here is a good halibut catch.  The average fish weighs 20-75 lb.  We normally use herring for bait.  The halibut can be found anywhere from 30 to 500 feet but we prefer to fish shallow.  It makes it a lot easier to bring them up.  Pictures is myself and my Dad, Paul.  He visits us as often as possible usually during fishing season.  Go figure.
Our favorite salmon to eat is the coho (silver) salmon.  But as for size you can't beat chinook (king) salmon.  He is our friend, Sherri Brown, with her  first  king.  This fish weighed in at 50 lbs.
Here is Stephanie with her first King Salmon.  It weighed in at 35#.  She had fun but still prefers to fish for halibut.
Here is my biggest halibut.  Weighed in at 120#.  Notice how Stephanie's smile is so much bigger in the picture with her fish.
Here is our friend JR with a good catch.  He got the big one.  It weighed about 125#.
Here is a series of pictures of this year's silver salmon fishing.  The fish run anywhere from 8 - 20# but average between 10-15#.  The silver salmon is our favorite to caught and eat.
Our boat is a 21' Wooldridge Deep Water Plus.  This has proved to be the perfect Alaskan boat.  Click on the picture for more details.
