KLI maintains a large inventory of physical, chemical, and biological field sampling instrumentation to support our environmental and oceanographic studies. This includes extensive instrumentation for project use, lease, and sale. Because we own the equipment, we ensure our clients the highest quality data through frequent calibration, QA/QC checks, and internal audits of instrument performance. Ownership of equipment allows KLI to provide in-house training for personnel and maintain consistency in sampling techniques and procedures. We are also able to provide rapid response to emergency situations with both equipment and personnel.

KLI is well-known for the custom design of instrumentation packages to meet individual client needs. Custom OEM (Original Equipment Manufacture) instrumentation packages are supplied to clients for specialized environmental monitoring. We provide terrestrial and marine multi-parameter datalogging arrays that are capable of communication via satellite telemetry uplink or cellular modem. For example, an OEM package designed by KLI is the automated water sampling system routinely used for urban runoff studies. These types of data acquisition packages have been utilized to measure a wide variety of parameters such as current and flow, stage height, humidity, temperature, transmissivity, OBS, rainfall, and conductivity. In addition, we design, assemble, and deploy physical oceanographic moorings for nearshore and offshore applications.
