Database Support Services
KLI personnel have extensive experience in data analysis and interpretation; computer programming; database administration; field sampling and logistics; and environmental monitoring and documentation.
Alaska-based staff is capable of providing a broad scope of services ranging from database design, implementation, and administration to all aspects of applied environmental programs, including data review, analysis, and final reporting.
KLI has performed numerous programs that demonstrate a wide range of computer capabilities including:
- Working knowledge of DOS and UNIX operating systems on SUN, IBM RS6000, and Hewlett-Packard platforms
- Extensive experience with ORACLE and other relational databases such as Sybase, FoxPro, Paradox, and R:BASE
- Technical experience installing and configuring hardware such as SCSI boards, hard drives, modems, and tape backup systems along with design and installation of automated control systems for environmental sampling
- Extensive programming experience using languages such as C and SQL to provide front-end modules, utilities, and to generally enhance end-user functionality
- Experience with the testing and installation of various types of software, including database and communication software
- Network protocol experience, including Novell IPX, NFS, and TCP/IP
